Susan began her educational journey as an elementary school teacher and middle school social studies teacher in Cleveland, Ohio. Susan went on to become a consultant and curriculum developer for an educational research company. With her strong passion for education and vision to reach many local educators with up to date resources, she founded Baum & Beaulieu Associates, Inc. with her former business partner, Nancy Beaulieu. Working in educational sales since 1979, she and Nancy saw the need for teacher professional resources to be offered to the schools on Long Island and in NYC. In 1990, an opportunity to become distributors of Heinemann was the beginning of the distribution process. Baum & Beaulieu Associate, Inc. quickly became known as Your Source for Professional Books, providing resources for over sixty companies in New York State and most recently in New Jersey.

In 2000, Susan initiated Standards of Literacy, a series of workshops featuring local and national speakers on relevant educational topics.

Susan’s professional goals are to help teachers enhance their teaching experience and effectiveness as professionals in such a way that fosters a love of learning by students while raising student achievement.

Susan enjoys spending her free time entertaining, reading and traveling with her husband, Eric. Susan's greatest pleasure is spending time with her three daughters, their husbands and six active grandchildren.
